Yeb's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped to buy fertilizer for his farmland and cows to resell.
Yeb, 45, lives in a rural area of the Kror Kor District of Pursat Province, Cambodia. He has four children, all of whom are dependent on him and are in school. Rice farming on 1.5 hectares area of farmland is the main source of the family’s income. Yeb has been in this for twenty-five years. To add more income for the family, he also buys cows to resell. The current business earns him approximately US $11 per day, and he can save about US $6 each day after daily expenses. Low crop yield because of destruction by insects is the main challenge for his rice paddy. Yeb is in his first microloan with Kiva’s partner, VisionFund. Now he is requesting a loan of US $1010. Yeb is going to utilize this loan to buy fertilizer for his farmland and use a portion of it to spend on buying cows to resell. Yeb hopes this loan will enable him to grow his rice fruitfully and timely so as to improve his standard of living and keep his children in school.
