Awa's Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy millet, sugar, oil, and sheep to resell.

Awa's Group's story

The group was created on December 13, 2008. The 26 members that make up the group have good social cohesion amongst themselves. They all practice the same line of work, which is small business. Standing up at the right of the photo, Thioro, the leader, is 67 years old. She is a widow, and mother of one boy and six girls. Once she receives her loan, she is going to buy millet, sugar, and oil, which she is going to resell in the village, as well as sheep. She buys millet at 75XOF/kg and resells it at 250XOF, and the sheep at 7500XOF, to resell at 25,000XOF. With the profits generated from this business, she is going to participate in meeting the expenses of her children, supporting them in nutrition, education, and healthcare if needed.
