Bonheur Group's story

Zuena, a member of the credit group "Bonheur", is a very ambitious entrepreneur. She is around 43 years old, not married and the mother of 3 young children who are all studying. She sells groceries. She displays her merchandise at the small markets, at her home and sometimes on the side of the road leading to the avenues. She started her business with her own funds, received from her boyfriend, and sold fish (Mikeke) coming from Uvira. Later on, she benefited from extra funding in the form of loans from MFI Hekima. She has been in this business for 2 years. Zuena has just completed 4 loans cycles with the Hekima microfunding program. The insecurity in the province's interior is threatening the development of her business. This new loan should allow her to buy items like 50 kg of rice, 50 kg of sugar, fish and soap, and the rest of the money will be spent on her children's education. She would also like to see her children grow up, and buy a house and a car. The customer thanks Hekima for its actions helping impoverished women achieve economic and financial emancipation. Some customers in the picture are carrying their babies.
