Tujenge Group's story

Kahambu is the leader of the Tujenge group. She is 37 years old, married and the mother of 8 children who all go to school. Her spouse is a master chef. Kahambu sells various items and is a member of a small shop. She started her business with her own funds, received from her husband. Later on, she benefited from additional funds in the form of loans from Hekima. She has just completed 19 loan cycles of Hekima's microcredit program. This new loan will be used to buy merchandise including 2 bags of rice, 1 bag of sugar, 5 cases of Fanta and 25 litres of Rina oil. In spite of the various challenges and other losses in this business, the client acknowledges that she has profited from the Hekima program. She therefore commends the initiative of IMF Hekima and its partners. 2 of the group members cannot be seen in the photo.
