Marie Christelle's Group's story
This group was created on December 13th, 2008, as part of a village bank. It is made up of an association of Catholic women who, by their by their agreement and solidarity, have accepted to open the village bank to other women. Marie Christelle, pictured first on the right and raising her hand, is 46 years old. She is married and the mother of 5 children and takes care of 3 other children. With the loan, she plans to buy sorrel, pain de singe (fruit of the Baobab tree), sugar and other ingredients and process these into juice. The profits enable her to provide and participate in the education of their children. She also has to buy a computer for her son who is in college as well as support the medical expenses of the family.
