Las Flores Group's story

This group is called Las Flores [The Flowers]. They chose this name because the members are all ladies. They live in a town called Tuñajen, where peppers are grown. They also celebrate the feast of San Felipe in February. Francisca is who took the interview, she has been in this group for eight cycles already. She is very happy and is doing well. She is married with Maurilio, they have been married for 20 years and she has four children under her responsibility, who are in secondary and primary school. She works buying and selling clothes for women and men, girls and boys. She has been working on this for seven years and she is doing well. With the loan, she will be able to buy more merchandise. With the profits she will support and sustain her small family. She is dedicated to this activity in order to be independent and contribute, although she also has the support of her husband, who works planting corn and beans to later sell it and have better income. What she desires the most is that her children try their best to keep forward with their studies, so later they can become independent. Those who form the group are the following. Migdalia will invest the loan in the purchase and the sale of pigs, fatting them and then selling them per kilo. Felicita will invest the loan in the purchase of agricultural products such as coffee, and bananas among other fruits. Felisa will invest in the purchase and the sale of clothes. Margarita will invest the loan in the purchase of food to fatten pigs to later sell them per kilo. Jessica will also invest in the purchase of clothes.
