Bun Lestari Group's story

Often called Island of the Gods, Bali is predominantly Hindu, and this group of residents from Sangketan village have joined together to work with MUK to secure funding to buy piglets and feed for them to eat. Many housewives in Bali raise pigs as a way to help support their families. One problem is that most of them do not know the correct way of raising livestock. To improve their skills, they have joined a group where they can exchange information and apply for a loan from MUK. Ni Wayan, 37, is a housewife who is head of the Bun Lestari loan group, which is requesting a loan to buy three piglets and feed. Six months after buying the pigs, they will be ready to sell and the money they bring in will help support families. One member of this group was sick and could not attend this meeting. She is represented here by her son.
