Neli's story

Neli is from Vani district of West Georgia. She is 53 years old and lives with her husband-Tamazi. Neli runs animal husbandry business-he has 4 milk cows, a calf, and a pig and sells 10-15 piglets per year. She milks the cows twice a day and produces cheese products, which is sold at the local open market. In addition, the family owns a nut garden and sells on average 400 kg nuts per year. Besides these activities, Neli works as a worker and serves to the local farmers to earn additional income. Tamazi has a minibus and serves the village as a driver. He gets a monthly income as well. Neli works hard to make some savings and improve the living conditions of the family. She has applied for this loan to increase the number of cattle. With the requested loan she plans to purchase additional milk cows. This will allow Neli to receive more milk for her dairy and increase the sales, which provide her main income. This will give her an opportunity to improve her family's living conditions.
