Mariana Del Jesús's story
This is where Mariana lives. She is a 37-year-old married mother of four, ages 22, 18, 9, and 7. The two eldest are engaged to be married while the two youngest are in school. Mariana's husband is a public employee.
In order to earn a living and to help with the household expenses, Mariana is a small business owner; she buys and sells home decor and ceramics. She has a business space on a main street where many people frequent and buy her products daily. She works every day from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Her children help her with sales and with painting the ceramics because she buys the unfinished products from local artisans, and she and her children then finish them up in order to sell them. She has been in this business for 15 years and has been prosperous.
Mariana will use this loan to purchase different types of handicrafts and paint to give them the finishing touches. She has been with the bank since its beginnings, and she likes it because she was able to launch her business with one of their loans many years ago.
Her dream is to give her children the best.
