Virgen De Natividad I Group's story
Janeth, 31, lives in common-law marriage from which she has a son. She was born in the city of Cusco but now lives in Huayllabamba in Urubamba province in the department of Cusco. Janeth is an enterprising and responsible mother who is well-liked. She is a nurse and works at a clinic in Ollantaytambo. She also raises small animals such as guinea pigs and chikens, a business she has had for three years and which is going well. At this time, Janeth needs a loan to buy guinea pigs and chickens. Janeth's dream is that her son follows a professional career. (She is the woman holding up her hand in the photo.) The members of this communal bank “Virgen de Natividad I” are neighbors and friends from Urubamba province in the department of Cusco. They are always looking for opportunities to get ahead and work hard every day to provide a brighter future for their children. The members' businesses include raising and selling small animals such as guinea pigs, chickens, and ducks; selling maize beer; selling plastics; selling pasta; and the man works in construction. (The male member did not attend the meeting because he had to work, but his wife is representing him in the photo.) The members are grateful for the opportunity offered and promise to make their payments on time. The city of Cusco is located in the province and department of Cusco. It is the ancient city of the Incas and is a tourist area known for its archeological centers, its historic district, its landscape and history, and for being a charming city in the southern part of the country. Cusco is also known for its traditional Inti Raymi festival and because Machu Picchu, one of the seven wonders of the world, is here.
