Miriyagnouma Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped to buy pagnes (traditional fabric).
Miriyagnouma Group's story
The MIRIYAGNOUMA group is part of the FASO KANOU association. The majority of the group is comprised of married women who are around 30 years old and who have four children on average. Most of the women live in monogamous families in the BABEMBA neighborhood, one of the working-class neighborhoods in the city of Sikasso (third administrative region of Mali). This is the group's second loan, and they repaid their past loan in full. They work with the microfinance institution, Soro Yiriwaso, in the hope of satisfying their clients. Madame ASSANA sells fabric in this women's group. She is standing in the middle of the photo. With her loan, she would like to buy 50 pagnes to resell at retail out of her home and in the market to a clientele of women who pay in cash. She would like to make an average monthly profit of 20,000 FCFA. Part of the profits will be used to pay back her loan and the other part will be put into savings. She would like to grow her sales and better satisfy her clients.
