Liana Nohemi's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped to purchase construction materials for a wood burning stove, such as: cement, sand, and brick, and ingredients such as corn to make tortillas.
Liana Nohemi's story
Liana lives in Yali, a community on the outskirts of Esteli; she is mother to a 3 year old child, single, and with limited educational background. She now sells tortillas, a business she started with her own money and no support about 2 years ago, prior to that she used to do janitorial work. With limited resources, she's been able to get ahead along with her child. She has solicited a Kiva loan to purchase construction materials, such as: cement, sand, and bricks to build a hearth (wood burning stove) where she will make tortillas; she will also be purchasing corn. She considers selling tortillas a good business because she has daily earnings and has been able to support her son to this day through these means. Her dream is to buy a home and live comfortably. Through the loan, she intends on keeping a stable business and in the future opening a convenience store in order to have better income and feel financially stable.
