María Elena's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped to buy fertilizer and coffee plants.
María Elena's story
When María Elena got married she started working in the coffee business alongside her husband; he taught her everything related to production. Some of the activities she carries out in the coffee plantation are adjusting shading, pruning, replanting, four weed clearings per year and in each harvest they do four to six cuts. They did very well in the last harvest because they yielded 35 tons that were sold to “Unión Regional de Huatusco” [coffee cooperative] to be exported. María Elena expects her next harvest to be as good as the one she’s just gone through and needs to buy fertilizer and new plants for her coffee plantation which is why she’s asking for a loan because she’ll be able to give continuity to the project they’ve worked so hard at with it. María and her husband have a son and their greatest hope is to be able to give him everything necessary so he can become independent and form a family.
