Julius's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped to buy more essential commodities such as sugar, dry beans and maize flour for resale.
Julius is 36 years old and lives in the town of Rukoki in the Fort Portal region of Uganda. He is married and has 2 children, both currently in school. For the past 3 years, Julius has been working hard to manage his retail shop, which sells rice, dry beans, sugar and soap. To help expand his business, Julius has requested a loan of 2,000,000 Ugandan Shillings (UGX) from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more essential commodities such as sugar, dry beans and maize flour for resale, and will help Julius to generate greater profits and pay his children's school fees. Julius hopes that, in the future, he will be able to expand the business into a big business such as a wholesale shop. Julius is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Julius who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
