Jesús De Nazaret (Portoviejo) Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy metal, welding supplies, paint and other supplies.

Jesús De Nazaret (Portoviejo) Group's story

The two male and eleven female members of the “Jesús de Nazaret” (Jesus of Nazareth) communal bank meet every fifteen days in the city of Portoviejo. They carry out a variety of activities like general commerce and services, among others. One of the members of this group is Adriana, 48. She’s in a common law relationship and has two children: an adult and a 16-year-old who attends secondary school and is the one still living with them. Her husband has a welding shop. She is a very hardworking housewife who in order to earn a little on her own works at a hamburger stand afternoons and evenings and is paid a monthly salary. The loan is for her husband’s business. He manufactures a variety of metal objects like doors, windows, metallic structures, etc. He works Monday through Saturday with the help of two employees who he pays monthly salaries. He’s had the shop more than 20 years and has always had work. This loan is to buy metal, welding supplies, paint and other supplies her husband uses to do his work. This is the second cycle in the communal bank and she likes it because of the help they give her and her fellow members. Her dream is to finish her house which still has a long way to go. The small photo is of a member who was unable to be present when the group photo was taken.
