The “Fe y Esperanza” [Faith and Hope] communal bank is comprised of 11 members, Maria Mercedes, Juana Rayo, Yudis Dayana, Rosa Emilia, Gloria Isabel, Candida Rosa, Heyling del Pilar, Magali Mercedes, Elieth Maria, Maria del Socorro, and Maria Candelaria. All of them have different business activities. Gloria Isabel is the coordinator of the bank. She is in charge of ensuring the responsibility and unity of all of the members of the communal bank. Her business activity is a grocery store. The loan that she is now requesting is to buy daily consumption products like rice, beans, sugar, cooking oil, eggs, “tiste” [a drink made from either rice or corn with cocoa], bread, milk, and matches, among others.
