Odbaatar's story

Odbaatar is 41 years old and lives with his wife, daughter, and son in Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia. His family lives in a small house in one of the outer districts of the city. For over 15 years, Odbaatar has been operating a clothing stall at the largest outdoor market in Mongolia. He mostly sells children’s clothing and products imported from Beijing and Ereen, a border city of China. Odbaatar runs his business with working capital of 4,000,000 MNT. His general income is usually high and he makes 50% profit from his business. His family bought a plot of land in 2003 with his earnings and Odbaatar also managed to buy a used car in 2009. Odbaatar is requesting a 1,000,000 MNT loan to import more clothes to sell in the summer. His goal is to support his children’s education and provide them with good living conditions in the future. Odbaatar is pleased to have this opportunity to expand his business with assistance from Kiva lenders, to whom he is very thankful. This is his third loan through Kiva.
