María Benita's story

María Benita, 44, is a single mother living in the town of El Sauce, León Department. In her free time she likes to read to learn a bit related to administration. Due to life’s foibles she became a mother at a young age and due to lack of economic resources was unable to study a university career but would have like to have studied Business Administration. Thanks to her enterprising spirit and her will to get ahead and give the best she can to her two children, María Benita works as a caretaker; she has many years of experience. She’s very happy with her work and although her salary is a bit low it does allow her to provide daily bread for her home and provide what she can for her children. She’s asking for a loan to pay school expenses because Nicaragua’s national feast days are approaching and she has to buy school uniforms and shoes for her two children because all the students must participate in such activity. One of her greatest dreams is to prepare her children professionally so that they will become upstanding citizens. Even though she was unable to have a profession she wants to strive so that her children will and thus have a better future. She is very grateful to Kiva lenders and to Ceprodel because thanks to the support provided she will be able to cover these costs; without this support many dreams and goals would remain unmet.
