A loan helped To buy a milk cow.

Lindita's story

Lindita is 38 and married. She has three children ranging in age from 2 to 12 years old. Her family lives in the central east of Albania, in a rocky mountain village that geographically makes the life of inhabitants harder to live. Yet, many families here have taken micro-loans from VisionFund Albania to start up businesses or improve their living conditions, with Lindita being one of them. She started a livestock business around five years ago. Since then, she has been selling dairy products to the locals and has been pleased to some extent with the money she earns through it, “Yet, there are lots of challenges, that at times I think I will never overcome,” Lindita says. This is the third time she is requesting a loan from the same institution, yet this time is different because this is a Kiva loan. Lindita wants to buy a milk cow with this loan in hopes of increasing the dairy production and, of course, the earnings. Lindita is someone who is respected by all in her village.
