Maria Magdalena's story

Maria Magdalena is 22 years old, she lives with her life partner in their own house and they have no children. Their house is located in the Tambogrande district, in the north of Peru. She lives in the rural part of the district and she does not have electricity. Notwithstanding her young age, Maria has proven herself to be a person who wants to have an active role in her environment. For this reason, she is now putting into practice what she has learned since she was a child. Maria breeds small animals (sheep, pigs and poultry) that she sells in the local market once they have reached the ideal size and weight, and she has been engaged in this activity for more than 10 years. She is young and she does not have much experience with the loans, but she can count on the support of her family. He partner is a farmer, currently working for a poultry company in Trujillo. Her father-in-law will sign as a guarantor for the present loan, as he is a customer of Epdyme Alternativa and has a good repayment record. She is therefore requesting a loan of 1500 PEN through Kiva and Epdyme Alternativa, and she will use it to buy animal feed for her animals.
