A loan helped to buy chairs and tables for her eatery and a display case for exhibiting cosmetics.
Ruth Del Carmen's story
Ruth is originally from the beautiful city of Verde Esmeraldas. She came to Guayaquil so that she could improve her quality of life. Ruth lives in Guasmo, which is south of Guayaquil and is also where she owns a house. She began selling food after she separated from her husband. Ruth has two daughters under her care. She started this business several years ago since her mother taught her how to prepare delicious food that she could sell. Her mother also helps with the business. Since selling food is not enough, Ruth also sells cosmetics through catalogs. Her day begins very early in the morning since she must buy supplies for preparing the dishes that she will sell to acquaintances, friends, and established customers. Ruth is well-known and loved in her neighborhood. Raising her children alone has earned her the respect and admiration of her neighbors.
With this loan, Ruth has plans to buy chairs, tables, and a display case for exhibiting products such as perfumes, make-up, and crèmes. This will enable her to provide quality service to her customers.
