Hassan's story

This is 40-year-old Hassan from Waterloo in the eastern area of Freetown, Sierra Leone. He is married with four children between the ages of five and 15 years old. He has two children who are currently attending school. Hassan runs a local foodstuffs business, He sells palm oil, (grain cassava), groundnuts and pepper. He has been running this business for 15 years. He works at the business from 7:00 am until 8:00 pm, seven days per week. His business is the only source of income he has. He says that the main challenge to his business is transportation because to transport the goods from the village to Waterloo is not easy. Hassan has requested a loan in order to buy more palm oil, grain cassava, groundnuts and pepper. The extra income from this loan will allow him to start a savings account and send his children to school. In the future, he plans to export palm oil overseas. He appreciates your support.
