Lillian is married with four children, three of whom go to school. She has a business of selling used clothes. She has been in this business for 10 years and sells to a variety of people at retail. She has applied for a loan of 2,000,000 Ugandan shillings from MCDT SACCO to buy more bales of used clothes. She works six days a week in a shop. She generates additional income through rental rooms. Her major business challenges include the ever-increasing prices of used clothes and thieves. She aspires to see her business grow big so that she starts importing used clothes, and also wants to build more rental rooms. She resides in her own house and the family has access to electricity but not piped water. Her monthly expenses includes school fees and feeding the family.
