Nueva Generación Group's story

The. “NUEVA GENERACIÓN” communal bank is in its ninth cycle in Pro Mujer, as a part of the Villa Exaltación center. It is made up of twelve members and is led by a board of directors of which Claudia is the secretary. The businesses of the members of the communal bank are varied. Among them, we have knitting hats, selling food, selling salchipapas, selling blankerts, selling sports cloths and weaving skirts. Claudia indicates that six years ago she joined Pro Mujer at the invitation of a counselor that works in the institution. Right now, she has a business making woven and knitted artisanal clothing. She learned about this business from her mother many years ago when she used to help her make these products. Later she started her own business. The loan she is taking out now is to grow her capital (buying wool and fabric). She will buy these things in ths distributors and later sell her products in the markets of the city of El Alto. This work allows her to generate income to support her family as much as possible, since she is in a common law marriage and has a son. When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, she answers that she likes the trainings about health and all of the consultants who help them. Marina's cousin can be seen in the photo. she is wearing a black sweater. She was with the group on its disbursement day.
