Zawadi Group's story
This client, Faida, is the leader of the business group "Zawadi". A courageous entrepreneur, she is 47 years old, married and the mother of nine young children who all attend school. Her husband works in retail business. Faida sells food products such as groundnuts and ndagara (small local fish). She has been involved in these small-scale income-generating activities for about 12 years. Through the microfinance institution Hekima and its credit program, she has obtained her 20th loan cycle. She will use this new loan to buy two bags of groundnuts, one bag of ndagara etc. In addition, she would like to see her children grow up comfortably and to expand her business. Profits from her business will serve to put money into saving, to pay for her children's education, food and clothing. Faida thanks Hekima for its actions in favor of poor women excluded from the traditional banking system. It should be noted that one of the borrowers is carrying her baby.
