Volver A Empezar I Group's story
The communal bank "Volver a Empesar I" began its second cycle with Pro Mujer as part of the Los Andes Focal Center. It is made up of nine members and is headed by a board with Francisca as president. The businesses that members of the communal association are in are varied, and among them are: vegetable sales, cafeteria services, silk-screen printing, meat sales, juice sales, sale of plastics, sundries, hardware items, and toy sales. Francisca indicates that she joined Pro Mujer a year and a half ago, at an invitation from a friend who is a member of the institution. Currently she has a business making and selling clothing, she has been knitting textiles for five years and later selling them at the city street markets. The loan that she is taking out now is to improve her products (to buy a knitting machine) which she will buy from the distributors in the city of El Alto and later she will create and sell her work at her business site every afternoon. This form of work permits her to generate resources in order to support, however is possible, her family as she lives with her partner and two children. When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, she replied that she likes all the services that the institution offers. In the photograph we can see Beatriz’s cousin, who is in the background, with white hair. She wanted to accompany her cousin and the group.
