Virginia's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to purchase organic fertilizer and coffee plants.

Virginia's story

Ever since she was very young, Virginia learned how to work in the coffee fields along with her father, who taught her everything she needed to know so that when she got married she could help her husband work. She is currently married to Noé, who is also a coffee farmer, and together they do all the necessary work in the coffee plantation so that it yields good harvests. Virginia is also in charge of taking care of the home and their three children. The coffee beans they produce are conventional, and they want to switch to organic coffee, because the quality is better and it doesn't harm the environment, since it doesn't use fertilizers that contain chemicals. To start implementing this process, they need to purchase new coffee plants and fertilizer. That is why she is requesting a loan. Virginia has been a member of Unión Regional de Huatusco for a few years and that is where she sells all the coffee they produce every year. Another of Virginia's long-term goals is to purchase another two hectares of land (nearly 5 acres) in order to increase production.
