A loan helped To buy more clothes and a motorcycle to get around.
Cindy is 24 years of age, and is a woman with lots of ideas and excitement concerning the future. She wants to get ahead, and is happy and friendly with other people. She is single, is undertaking technical studies and has no children. She lives in her parents’ house, along with her three siblings. Cindy works selling clothing. She gets all her clothes from the capital, where she regularly travels every three months. She also has a part-time job in the mornings, where she works in a private company and takes full advantage by selling her clothing to her work colleagues. Cindy started this business more than a year ago, using her own capital, and has run the business alone. She thinks that her business is profitable because of the good profits it generates, which represent additional income for her personal expenses. Before starting her business Cindy had financial difficulties, as food prices are constantly on the up and her parents’ income was insufficient. She therefore decided to earn extra income, overcoming these problems. Seeing how well her business was received, she wants to support it and ensure it continues. She also wants to open a pharmacy once she finishes her technical studies in pharmacology. This is Cindy’s third loan from MFP, and she hopes to meet her goals. She says that she is happy with her village bank, and the help that it provides to people who want to get ahead. She plans to use the requested amount of 3,500 nuevos soles to buy a motorcycle valued at 1,500 nuevos soles, which she will use to collect amounts due to her and save money when traveling. She will also buy more ladies’ clothing, in a wide range of modern styles.
