A loan helped To buy poultry for farming and build a poultry housing unit.
Peres is a farmer in Kitale area of Western Kenya where she lives with her family of seven children the last three of whom are still schooling. She has been in farming for twenty years and currently sells her produce of milk, maize, beans and vegetables to the local market. Peres has requested a loan of 80,000 KES from Juhudi Kilimo, a Kiva partner to expand her poultry farming business. She says she will buy more birds at 40,000 KES and build a better poultry housing unit too at 40,000 KES for the increased number of her flock. She is optimistic she will be able to pay for the education the education of her children. She says poultry diseases remains the major challenge in farming but is glad with Juhudi Kilimo loan support to smallholder farmers.
