A loan helped to buy provisions, trout, and guinea pigs to prepare food.

Jacinta's story

Jacinta, 62, is a very courageous woman because she was widowed three years ago, from her husband Oscar. They had eight children for whom they cared lovingly. Now she lives in her daughter Sara's house. Jacinta feels alone because her eternal companion died. Because of this she began to live with her daughter, whom she loves a lot. But because she is a hardworking woman, she continues earning a living as a cook in a mine, where she makes 30 dishes of homemade food. It is going very well for her in her business because food in that area is scarce and this gives her greater demand. In addition, thanks to her dedication she managed to be hired as a cook in the cafe of the mine where they pay her 25 soles [PEN] a day. All these jobs, plus the monthly pension she receives for the death of her husband, give her financial stability. This fills her with peace and happiness. "I will wait in peace, because the rest of my life I will not worry my family," she says calmly. This is her second loan with MFP and she promises to make the payments on time. Also, it pleases her to be part of her group because all the members are responsible and very supportive people. Jacinta will invest the requested money in buying provisions, trout (fish), and guinea pigs (the rabbit type) to prepare her meals.
