Rancho Nuevo Group's story

Maria Cristina is 22 years old and married to Sr. Juan Carlos, who is a field laborer. They have two children, Juan Manuel who is only 1½ years old, and another baby who is 2 months old.

Maria Cristina has a business in her home where she sells Mexican street food such as golden tacos, pork tacos, mini-chalupas, mini-tostadas, quesadillas, and "atole" (a hot beverage made with cornmeal). This enables her to provide for her small family. Maria Cristina plans to invest her loan in the ingredients that she uses for preparing Mexican street food such as chicken, pork, tomatoes, and to buy plates so that her customers can carry the food.

Maria Cristina is one of 10 members of the group "Rancho Nuevo", which is named after the village where they live. The following list shows the members and their business activities: • Geydili sells sweets. • Catalina sells pork. • Jesús sells food. • Rosi sells perfumes. • Jair sells corn. • Maria Cristina sells Mexican street food. • Yazmin sells shoes. • Joel sells jugs of water. • Adilenne sells perfumes. • Ana Karen sells tacos and enchiladas.
