Otilia's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to hire day laborers to clear her parcel.

Otilia's story

Otilia, 42, is father and mother to her five children who she’s providing with a good education. They all live together in her own house made of wood. She grows cocoa bean plants and barbasco [an evergreen shrub] roots. She’s been in this occupation for 20 years and she comments that she gets help from day laborers during harvesting. After harvesting, she sells her production to gathering centers where she earns good profits. What she likes best about her work is being able to be independent and what’s difficult about it is having to combat infestations that afflict her crops. This is her 4th MFP loan and she feels proud of the trust being placed in her to develop her work. Similarly, she thanks her communal bank for working with responsible members. She will use the requested loan to hire day laborers to help her remove weeds from her crops and the rest to apply manure to her parcel.
