A loan helped to build two rooms for more comfort.

Mario's story

Mario’s married and has a son he lives with in his own house which only has two rooms with brick walls and a cement floor; the house is located in the city of El Alto’s Villa Ingenio zone. Currently he earns income working in gastronomy since he caters all types of events on weekends for more than 8 hours. The work Mario does is dangerous because he works until the wee hours of the night meeting his contractual obligations and what little he earns is to cover food, utilities and medical expenses because he does not have health insurance for his family. The loan he’s requesting is to add two rooms to his house to have more comfort because his son is attending secondary school and he needs his own space. Mario’s dream is to have a cafeteria of his own to prepare his food and then sell it to improve his income and his quality of life. This is the first time he’s worked with IMPRO and KIVA.
