Anonymous Group's story
The borrower is a member of the Lafortune credit group. She is a courageous entrepreneur who, at age 40, is the mother of 10 children, all attending school. She sells small beauty products for women (hairpieces, hair extensions, jewelry, lipstick, body lotions, perfumes etc.) at the central market in Virunga. Her husband is a welding technician. She started her business using a loan from Hekima, after hearing from her peers about the microcredit offered by Hekima in the city of Goma. With the profits from her business, she puts some money into savings, feeds her children and pays their school fees. She has just received her fifth loan cycle. During that time period, she has seen her business prosper in spite of all the taxes that she has to pay. Thanks to the loans that she has received from Hekima, she has been able to buy some important home appliances for the benefit of her family. This new loan should help her to buy 50 hairpieces and other various items. She would like to see her children grow up nicely. She thanks Hekima and its partners for helping low-income women achieve independence.
