Anonymous Group's story
The client is a member of the group Tuungane. She is a young 32-year-old widow and mother of two children. Her husband died following a brief illness. Both children go to primary school. She has been working in small trade for five years selling clothing and various items. She started this activity using capital given by her husband before he died. She displays her merchandise at the central market of Virunga. This new loan will allow her to bolster her sales by purchasing 4 dozen children’s outfits, 6 pairs of pants, 6 adult shirts, 10 skirts, a few dresses, etc. Her main hurdle is that she sometimes sells on credit, and some customers pay late or not at all. She also gets robbed on the road fairly often. She wants to see her children grow up and ensure a better future for them. She wishes to thank Hekima for its efforts to help poor women who don’t have access to traditional banks.
