A loan helped to buy animal feed and fertilizer.
Jose Fidel's story
José is a 47 year old man with a spouse and four children in his care; he lives in his own house. It’s mentioned that the quality of life in the community is at the subsistence level. Most of the residents are independent workers in commerce and animal husbandry; some of them also work in agriculture. José lives in the Jesús del Valle settlement in Tambogrande District of Piura Department. He does not have basic utilities like all the other families living there under the same conditions. José’s commercial activity is raising sheep and barnyard fowl to sell. He raises these animals in corrals outside his house. It’s worth mentioning that José has 5 years’ experience which has led to his retaining his regular business clientele. He sells his animals to local wholesalers. He also has a piece of farmland where he’s growing one hectare of lemons which are developing properly and from which he sells weekly harvests thus earning additional income. Currently, José has proposed to expand his inventory with respect to the animal sales because it’s a very profitable activity in the zone which is why he’s asking Edpyme Alternativa for a new loan in the amount of 1200 new soles to buy animal feed and fertilizer for his lemon crops which in time will lead to improved standard of living for him.
