A loan helped To buy scrap metal.
Adama was born Kébila in the county of Kolondièba. He is a married father of two children, is 33 years of age and lives with his wife and children in the Massablacoura neighborhood of Bougouni. He left school early to start making money and for years tried a number of activities, such as the sale of various articles in stores, but without success. Eventually he decided to learn to be a blacksmith, producing articles such as plows, hoes, axes, knives, and so on. With over eight years’ experience, Adama is now skilled in his trade. To meet the needs of his growing customer base, he decided to join the Soro Yiriwaso finance program to purchase 50 kg of scrap iron and use the rest of the money to buy firewood for his forge. This is Adama’s first loan with Soro Yiriwaso. He gets his supplies from Bamako (the capital of Mali) and, once he has manufactured his goods, he sells them in his workshop next to the road between Bougouni and Sikasso. His customers are almost all farmers. He hopes to make a monthly profit of 30,000 francs CFA, which he will use to improve his business.
