Graines Plus Group's story

Léa is a leader of a Community bank named “Graines Plus” which means seeds in English. It is made up of thirty-one members firmly united to receive loans from the MFI (micro-finance institution) HOPE RDC in order to develop their businesses. Léa operates a pastry shop that she started in 2000. Her business is located to the North-eastern part of Kinshasa. She works hard with good management for business expansion. With her loan, Léa will be able to increase the production of loaves of bread in order to meet the customer demand and generate additional profits. Her business makes US$30 of profit per week. One of Léa’s strategies to keep her clients is that she tells them in advance about any changes that may occur in her business. Léa is 55 years old, a widow and has seven children whose ages vary between 23 and 35 years old.
