Llapanchis Tticarisunchis Group's story

A group of neighbors and friends have formed the “Llapanchis Tticarisunchis” Communal Bank in the town of Cusco. This Communal Bank has been working for a few years already, and it is well organized. This Communal Bank is composed of people who are constantly looking for chances to get ahead, and to offer a better future to their children thanks to their daily efforts. Some of the economic activities of the members are: food sale, cooking gas sale, shoes sale and handicrafts, while others engages in providing services of different kind. Diana (who is the one with her hand raised in the picture) was born in Quillabamba, a town of the La Convención province in the Cusco department, but she live in the lovely city of Cusco. She is 25 years old, she lives in a common-law marriage and she has one child. Her main economic activity is selling used clothes, American used clothes in particular. She has been engaged in this activity for a few years already, and things are going very well thanks to the dedication she works with. In this occasion Diana is requesting a loans to buy products such as trousers, slippers, sweaters, shirts, skirts and zip jackets among other things. All the members are grateful for the chance they have been offered, and they commit to complying with the repayment of their dues according to the set schedule. (Two people appear in the lower parts of the picture because they have arrived late at the meeting). Cusco is located in the district and province of Cusco, in the heart of the ancient Incan town. Cusco is a tourist area, renowned for its archeological sites, its historical center, its landscapes, its history, for Inti Raymi, a traditional celebration, and because here on can visit “Machupicchu”, one of the seven wonders of the world.
