A loan helped to purchase more merchandise (beans) for a business.

Niño Compadrito Group's story

The members pictured above belong to the community bank, “Niño Compadrito,” which is located in the Cusco district of the department and province of Cusco. Angélica is a member of the group, and is 52 years old, separated from her husband, and has two children. She makes a living both buying and selling beans and potato starch, and she also dedicates a portion of her time to raising animals, such as chickens and guinea pigs. She sells her products to customers who demand them, and is a happy, responsible woman with a desire to get ahead. Angélica is requesting this loan in order to purchase more merchandise for her business (such as lima beans). She is grateful for the support from the loan, and has promised to complete all payments on schedule. The other members make a living buying and selling other staple items, raising animals, buying and selling corn, and in construction.
