Las Marias Group's story
Rosa Dalia, age 38, is married and has four children. Three of them go to school. Luis is in the second year of high school. Elvis is in the third year of middle school, and Sandra is in the second year of middle school. Her husband is a farmer and devotes himself to the fields. She sells chickens, and she says that her business is going very well for her. She will use the loan to buy chickens to raise. She has had the business for nine years, and she hopes the loan will help her. She would like to give her family a better life style. She would like her daughter to study to be a doctor, and she hopes it all goes well. She would like the business to grow more. She only sells chickens now, but she would like to sell another thing. She has not yet planned it, but she is thinking of setting up another business. This way her business will be growing. Rosa Dalia belongs to the Las Marías communal bank. It is comprised of ten hard-working women who are prepared to get ahead day to day in order to give their families a better lifestyle. The following are members of the group: Isabel, Elisandra, Indira, Paula, Alberta, Marisol, Carmela, Maelbis, and Irma. All of them have a business activity like selling domestic items, chickens, perfumes, groceries, fruits, vegetables, food, soft drinks, materials for making cutlery, and corn.
