Camino De Victoria 1 Group's story

Carmen is the coordinator of her group Camino de Victoria (Road to Victory). Carmen's group is located in Santiago, an area known for tobacco and beef production. Santiago is the second biggest city in the Dominican Republic. The group members are dedicated to selling cloth, food, shoes and many other miscellaneous products. Carmen lives in a simple structure with one of her two children and her long term partner. She said her most difficult challenge has been to travel and visit her family living in other countries. One of her most favorite things to do is to watch telenovelas. Carmen is excited about her 3th loan with Esperanza. She has had her business for approximately 7 years, starting with her own resources. She plans to use this loan to invest in her Cafeteria where she sells sandwiches, natural fruit juices and shakes, and other snacks. With this loan, she will be able to expand her business by buying bread, ham, cheese, catchup, snacks, sugar, milk and fruit. She will use the profits to buy a refrigerator and chairs for her business. She wants to see her children become professionals - this is one of her dreams. Carmen thanks all of you for your support.
