A loan helped to buy more tilapia for her retail business.

Gemma's story

Gemma is full of hope in obtaining success in life. She is 48 years of age and a widow. Since her husband died, she has had to take the responsibilities of being the father and mother to her three children. According to Gemma, it's really quite hard to be the bread winner of the family, but she didn't have any choice. So she patiently cares for her family at the same time she runs her specialized retail business. In this way, she can meet the welfare of her children. Two of her children have finished their degree courses, while the youngest is still a high school student who requires Gemma's income due to the school fees and daily allowances. For now, Gemma would like to ask for additional capital amounting to 10,000 PHP, allowing her to buy more tilapia to be sold within her local community to double her income. She hopes that she can make her business viable as a source of income for the family. That way, she will no longer have the problem of the daily allowances of her child and be able to send her child to a higher level of education.
