Jesús El Salvador Group's story
Jesús El Salvador Communal Bank is a group made up of seven members, the majority of them neighbors in the area. They have been working with the Prosperidad program for eight years. Zonia, 47, is separated with two independent children. She works selling fried foods such as Broaster-style chicken wings, "salchipapas" [hot dogs with fried potatoes], and hamburgers. The vast majority of her customers are people who travel to the central part of the country. Thanks to her hard work and with the help of her children Zonia managed to fulfill one of her goals, building her house. Her next goal is to set up a restaurant because that will assure that she will have greater profits. She is requesting a loan now to buy supplies for her business such as chicken, oil, potatoes, etc. Jesús El Salvador Communal Bank is grateful for the loan offered.
