A loan helped to buy trees.

Maria's story

María is 44 years old and lives with 40-year-old Macedonio. As a result of their great love they have 2 children. They live together in their own house located in the village of Vista Alegre in the district of Sivia. María works selling wood together with her beloved husband, who manages the logging. To help with this work, they hire four laborers; two of them are in charge of sawing, while her husband and one other person use a vehicle to transport all of the wood. Their products are then sent out to market in the district of Sivia to carpenters and to middlemen who sell the wood. She also says that doing this job is not easy. In the first place, she must have a license, otherwise, she would be doing illegal work. As a result, her products would be confiscated and she would be imprisoned. María is happy with her work because it generates an excellent profit. In the future, she is thinking of opening a clothing store. This is her fourth loan with MFP, and therefore she has committed herself once more to punctually paying off her outstanding balance. With the 3,000 nuevos soles she will buy trees to be sawed later on.
