A loan helped to buy clay to make bricks.
Cesar Edwin's story
Cesar is a hard-working and enthusiastic young man of 23. He lives together with his partner, who helps him a lot. Their home is located in the city of Ica, a city known for its warm climate and the generosity of its people, as well as for its agriculture, especially the cultivation of cotton, grapes and asparagus. In his free time, Cesar plays soccer with his friends and neighbors, and he also takes advantage of opportunities to eat one of his favorite dishes, the delicious "Arroz con Pollo” [chicken and rice]. Because his parents had few economic resources, he was only able to study up to the fifth year of secondary school, but he would have liked to study Civil Engineering. With great enthusiasm and effort, he works in his business making bricks. He dedicates himself to his work about 8 hours per day. He is very responsible, and above all, he enjoys his work, in spite of the tedious aspects. He believes that his business is going well for him because it is very well-known. Cesar is very grateful to the Kiva lenders, because thanks to the help provided to him, he will be able to buy clay to prepare the raw bricks. This will permit him to continue production and keep working day by day to achieve his dream: "having an oven to bake the bricks and a small truck."
