Las Manzanas Group's story

The “Las Manzanas” (The Apples) group is composed of very hardworking men and women from the community they live in. It is very pretty however it’s somewhat complicated to reach because there is no transport available. The community is called Barrio Monte Alto. The “Las Manzanas” group is so named because the location is noted for the apple orchards that exist there. Francisco, 31, is the group representative. He has lived with his spouse, Reyna, for the last ten years and has three children: Regina, 9, Lucila, 8 and Cristian, 6. All attend elementary school. Francisco works in construction and carpentry but will soon open a clothing store and this is why he’s asking for the loan to buy all sorts of clothes for women, men, boys, girls and infants. He comments that he hadn’t been able to start the business because the locales he’d destined for the clothing sales were unfinished. “But now that I have finished them I’m very happy because I will be able to start the business. I still haven’t thought of a name for it but I’ll keep thinking.” The loan will help him much because he’ll be able to buy his merchandise and obtain profits from there. One of Francisco’s goals is to do very well with the business he’s about to start and above all that his clientele grows. He hasn’t started to earn profits yet but he comments that when he does they will be to move his children ahead and above all to improve quality of life. The other group members will invest as follows: Marcelina will buy lambs, Leticia in a grocery store, Victor and Pedro will invest in a candy store, Beatriz in a chicken shop and Leonel in a repair shop. In general, the entire group is very grateful.
