Juanito's story

This is Juanito, 54, a resident of Manila, Philippines. Single, he manages his own household while operating the business. At this time, he is working hard to continually provide income for his everyday expenses. Juanito operates a buy and sell business. He buys used furniture from his contact companies, repairs it and sells it for a profit. His products are office tables, cabinets and other office furniture. Customers are attracted to buy because of the low selling prices and the many options he offers. His regular customers are his neighbors and the local community. He earns a minimum of 800 PHP in sales every day. To help him continue operations of his business, he is requesting a PHP 21,000 loan. He will be using the loan to buy more quantities of used furniture needed in his business. He expects a boost in his business income as he expands his business. Juanito dreams of having his own warehouse and also being able to give support to his relatives. He faithfully meets with his co-fellowship members to share stories of his work every week and where he can also draw strength and inspiration from the word of God he studies. * All CCT community partners/clients are organized into fellowship groups that meet on a weekly basis. A fellowship group is composed of 15 to 30 community partners. The fellowship groups gather each week to study the word of God, build social capital, and pay microfinance loans.
