A loan helped to buy building materials for house repair.

Oldemar's story

Oldemar is a 41 year old man who lives with his family in a community called Osa located in Caña Blanca which is in Puntarenas. This community stands out because it’s a rural zone that gets many visitors because of its beaches. The main economic activities are tourism, farming and raising livestock. Among his projects is to repair the house he lives in with his family because it’s quite deteriorated. He feels that through this loan he will be able to accomplish this and give his family the possibility of having a proper home. What Oldemar is asking for at this time is a five-hundred thousand colones loan to buy building materials like lumber, cement and tile, among others. Oldemar is a member of the Caña Blanca communal bank, one of Edesa’s 150 member organization in Costa Rica. With this loan he hopes to grow more both personally and economically. He also points out that thanks to this type of organization and credit facilitating means, he can spend more time on productive activities.
