Flor Naciente Group's story

The community bank "Flor Naciente" will begin its third cycle with Pro Mujer, as part of the Villa Exaltación regional center. The group is composed of eight members, and they have a board of directors where Señora Juana is treasurer. The businesses of the members of the group are varied: among them we have selling sweets, selling coca, sewing pants, butcher shop, selling fabric, selling meat, selling vegetables, macramé, and selling plastic articles. Señora Juana says that a year ago she put together a communal bank at the invitation of a co-worker. At this time she has a business selling vegetables, which she has done for years. The loan from this loan cycle is to expand her merchandise (buy vegetables), which she buys in the city of El Alto and then sells at her fixed stall. This form of work allows her to support her family, since she is single and has a son. When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, she responds that she likes the health center.
